According to the document, the culprit is the wiring harness between the crankshaft position sensor and the engine control module (the vehicle’s main computer). Honestly, it was embarrassing to have others ride with me in my vehicle, it was like a whip-lash jerk!” states another on .Ĭhevy’s parent company, General Motors, issued a technical service bulletin (TSB) to address the drivability concerns. It was not, it continued and seemed to get worse. We brought it back in and were told that the computer was dropping programs but they were positive the problem was fixed. Right after we got it back from the dealership(they replaced the headlight assembly) we noticed a strong jerk at various speeds and thought it was the transmission. “This vehicle has given us nothing but headaches since purchasing end of Oct 2017! It began within a few days of purchase, the LED headlight assembly started flashing erratically, other cars began pulling over when I drove up behind them, I assume they were thinking that they were being pulled over by an unmarked police car. It felt like I would get whiplashed from the movement of the vehicle.” The vehicle would lurch/jerk forward then loose power over and over again. However, upon releasing the brake to proceed through the intersection, the vehicle restarted but would not run properly. On the NHTSA website, one complaint reads, “While at a traffic light, the engine auto stop engaged as usual. Otherwise I'm very happy with my purchase. Many 2018 Traverse owners complain of drivability problems such as stalling, reduced power, feeling sluggish, shuddering and jerking. My only negative comment would be that the front seat bottoms seem to be a bit small in area. It has more than adequate acceleration, stops very well and the handling is crisp and very responsive. It is so quiet you can barely hear the engine when running. I especially like the under floor storage compartment behind the 3rd row seating. I found the fit and finish of the interior to be very good. You can adjust them front to rear and they recline too. I really like the second row bucket seats. My LT has most of the bells and whistles you will ever need. Excellent dash graphics and logically laid out. I have to like/love the outside first, otherwise I move on to something else. I wanted a Tahoe but couldn't justify the steep price. From here on out I'll stick to driving GMs as rental cars. I expected more for the price, and I'm quite disappointed in the overall quality. I love the space in the Traverse, but after owning one for 50,000 miles I've had enough. I find the seats to be uncomfortable for trips lasting more than 2 hours. The ride is good on very smooth roads, but bone jarring on anything else. It's a common defect with the Traverse, but it's nothing GM will address. At 2200 RPMs there is a very loud engine drone due to the exhaust resonance. Shortly after that was fixed, the stereo touch screen went blank for about 15 seconds (luckily, it only did this once. The manual gear select button doesn't always work (it's no longer under warranty), which is a common problem with these vehicles due to a bad wire connection. The interior started out quiet but now has several small squeaks and rattles. At about 5000 miles the center console had to be replaced because it started warping. Ever since we got it, the tailgate button intermittently quits working, but it can't be fixed as it's not replicable enough for the dealership to identify the problem and it doesn't throw errors. Nice looks and space for a mid-sized SUV but there are too many issues with this vehicle for me to recommend.
